Coney Island: Mister Twin Peaks Pageant!

What: The Miss Twin Peaks Pageant has been going strong for over 6 years but it’s time to let the boys have a little fun! This will be the first ever Mister Twin Peaks Pageant hosted by The Pink Room: David Lynch Burlesque at Coney Island USA.

Flatbush: City Council Candidate Forum for Districts 35, 40 and 45
When: Saturday, July 15 at 10 am
Where: Erasmus High School, 911 Flatbush Ave between Church Ave & Snyder Ave
What: Join the Flatbush Tenant Coalition and City Council candidates to discuss the issues that matter in your community, like jobs, education, affordable housing, public safety, and more. Check out last year’s forum here.

Kensington: Live music and health workshops at Avenue C Plaza
When: Sunday, July 16 from 2pm to 6pm
Where: Avenue C Plaza at McCdonald and Avenue C
What: Check out free live bluegrass and ‘Plant, Paint, and Health’ workshops.
From 2-3 pm The Brooklyn Bluegrass Collective, a 5- member band, will play from 2-3pm during the “Paint Outside the Box” jamboree. Smocks and gloves will be provided, but don’t wear your best clothes! Then, pot a plant and learn how to achieve wellness for the autistic child.

Greenwood Heights: Birding in Peace
When: Sunday, July 16, 6:30am to 8am
Where: Green-Wood Cemetery, 500 25th Street
What: Before the cemetery gates open to the general public, birding expert Rob Jett will lead a peaceful Sunday morning walking tour in search of the many birds that call Green-Wood Cemetery home. A Bird Checklist will be provided to all tour participants.

Manhattan Beach: Dan Levinson’s Gotham Sophisticats Featuring Molly Ryan
