Events & Local Places The Blizzard Is (And Isn’t!) Shutting Down

As the afternoon rolls on, the list of business closures is growing, but if you’re looking for some last minute provisions, or even a mid-blizzard beer, a number of stores and bars around the neighborhood will remain open tonight and tomorrow. EVENTS

Union Hall (702 Union Street): They plan on opening today at 4pm, but tonights Mehran Show is cancelled. So far, Tuesday’s sold-out Brooks Wheelan album release show hasn’t been cancelled.

Littlefield (622 Degraw Street): Tonight’s Night Train with Wyatt Cenac has been cancelled, full refunds available. Tuesday’s Tiny Rhino has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, February 3.

The Rock Shop (249 4th Avenue): No events were scheduled for tonight, but apparently wing night is still on guys!

Barclays Center (620 Atlantic Avenue): Tonight’s Nets game has been rescheduled to April 6.

LIBRARIES

All Brooklyn Public Library locations will close today at 5pm, but they are still deciding about tomorrow.

Prospect Park: Closed until further notice as of 6pm tonight. Lakeside closed all day today and until further notice. The Zoo closes today at 3pm and will be closed on Tuesday.

HEALTH & FITNESS

CityMD (418-420 5th Avenue): Will close at 6pm. As of 1pm, they will be open on Tuesday, but employees recommend calling the office before coming in to confirm.

Both the Prospect Park (357 9th Street) and Armory (361 15th Street) YMCA will close at 6pm on Monday, and remain closed through Tuesday.

BYKlyn Cycle (258 Flatbush Avenue): 6:30pm and 8pm classes tonight and 9:30am class tomorrow are cancelled, but they may keep a 12:30pm one and even add extras tomorrow.

SUPERMARKETS

Key Food (120 5th Avenue): Will close early, but unsure how far before 10pm, and may open later on Tuesday.

Key Food (130 7th Avenue): As of this afternoon, they think they’ll be open their regular hours, but may close early depending on what things look like later.

Park Slope Food Coop (782 Union Street): As of this afternoon, they plan to stay open until 10pm tonight, and to open 8am on Tuesday.

Steve’s C-Town (327 9th Street): As of this afternoon, the store will remain open until 10pm, but the manager notes this may change as the afternoon goes on.

Whole Foods (214 3rd Street): Will close at 8pm tonight, opening time on Tuesday will depend on the severity of the storm.

FOOD & DRINK

200 Fifth (200 5th Avenue): Will be open regular hours and serving up happy hour specials from 4-7pm.

Ample Hills (305 Nevins Street): We can’t be the only ones who want ice cream when it snows, but you better get it fast — they’re closing today at 5pm, and will be closed on Tuesday.

Flatbush Farm (76 St Marks Avenue): Will be open regular hours tonight.

The Gate (321 5th Avenue): They’ll be open, and still hosting their weekly trivia at 8pm!

Ghenet (348 Douglass Street): Will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Hungry Ghost (253 Flatbush Avenue): Will close at 7pm tonight and expects to be open tomorrow at 7am.

Lobo (188 5th Avenue): Will be open regular house tonight.

Luke’s Lobster (237 5th Avenue): Will close tonight at 5:30pm, Tuesday opening still undecided.

The Owl Farm (297 9th Street): Open regular hours (and they have a fireplace!).

Pacific Standard (84 4th Avenue): Plans on being open 4pm-4am.

The Sackett (661 Sackett Street): Will be open at 4pm and make a call about closing time as the night goes on.

Surfish Bistro (351 5th Avenue): Will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

Threes Brewing (333 Douglass Street): Will open at 4pm today, but may close early.

Zito’s (195 5th Avenue): Says they’ll be open and making deliveries — if you really, really, really have to order delivery, tip really, really, really well.
