Eugene Takes District 40, De Blasio & Lhota Will Vie For Mayor & More Results Of Yesterday's Primary Election

The results of yesterday’s primary elections are in, and several of the races came down to the wire. In case you went to bed at a reasonable hour, here’s who won each city-wide race, plus our more local ones:

Mayoral (will advance)
Democratic: Bill de Blasio, 40.19%
Republican: Joe Lhota, 52.6%

Comptroller
Scott Stringer, 52.08%

Public Advocate (will advance)
Letitia James, 36.06%
Daniel Squadron, 33.17%

District Attorney
Ken Thompson, 55.42%

Borough President
Eric Adams (uncontested)

District 40
Mathieu Eugene, 48.3%

District 45
Jumaane Williams, 74.4%

In District 40 where Eugene won with 5,913 votes, Saundra Thomas took 4,584 votes (37.45%), Sylvia Kinard took 1,265 votes (10.33%), and John Grant took 478 votes (3.91%). Jumaane Williams got 9,150 votes, while his District 45 opponents Godwin Williams and Jean Similien got 1,613 votes (13.12%) and 1,531 votes (12.45%) respectively.
