Erasmus Hall Dutchmen Honored at City Hall
On December 4, 2012 the Erasmus Hall Dutchmen won the NY Class PSAL Chamionship game at Yankee Stadium. The team did not lose a single game leading up to the championship match, and they certainly earned a lot of respect both locally and city-wide.
The team was honored last Wednesday by Councilman Matthieu Eugene at City Hall. In a statement illustrating the councilman’s feeling on the matter, Eugene said: “The Dutchmen’s victory is a proud achievement, not just for Erasmus Hall, but for the entire community. It highlights the importance of, and positive impact, that physical and academic educations have on our children. These young men, led by Danny Landberg, exemplify perseverance, dedication and discipline that will help lead them to success as they go forward in life.”
The team was greeted with fierce admiration and respect. The Erasmus Hall Dutchmen were there, not only to be praised, but to help emphasize the importance of physical education and activity among youngsters in our communities and schools. By acting as role models for other students, teams like the Dutchmen can inspire kids to be healthy and lead meaningful lives.
Congratulations, Dutchmen!
