Enjoy An Interfaith Thanksgiving Service This Weekend At Our Lady Of Refuge

Our Lady of Refuge

This Sunday, November 24 will mark the 13th Annual Thanksgiving Service sponsored by Our Lady of Refuge and the East Midwood Jewish Center‘s Interfaith Committee, which has worked to educate local communities about each other’s cultures and religious traditions for nearly two decades.

The 4pm service will be held at Our Lady of Refuge (2020 Foster Avenue on the corner of Ocean Avenue), and will feature Thanksgiving prayers from multiple faiths, as well as sermons by EMJC Rabbi Alvin Kass and OLR’s Father Michael Perry.

There will also be performances by the Amity School Choir (directed by Ali Khaya), the OLR Choir (directed by Glen Balch), the EMJC Choir (directed by Cantor Sam Levine), and the Kingsborough Choral Society (directed by Mark Mangeni).

Refreshments will be served, and all are welcome. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items for donation to OLR’s food pantry.
