Enjoy A Giant Block Party And A Free Performance Of Romeo & Juliet On Friday
Romeo & Juliet via South Brooklyn Shakespeare

This Friday, August 15, join hundreds of neighbors to enjoy a traffic-free 5th Avenue during the next Summer Stroll! The giant block party takes over 5th Avenue from Dean Street to Sterling Place between 5-9pm, and there’s a special event to look forward to on top of all the entertainment, games, food, and drinks — a performance of Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet, right in the street.

The story of these star-crossed lovers will be presented for free by South Brooklyn Shakespeare, and will feature 13 professional actors as well as a professional crew including a set designer, a fight director, and original music by Gypsy George Mihalopoulos and DJ Rabbi Darkside.

They’ve already held a couple performances in South Slope, and this is the last chance to check it out this summer.

The show goes on at 7pm on 5th Avenue at Dean Street — just bring a folding chair or blanket and some friends!

And then save the date for the final Summer Stroll, which will take place on Friday, August 22 on 5th between Dean and Sterling, also from 5-9pm.
