Who ever said Giving Tuesday had to be just one day?

With the new year less than two days away, there’s still time to give back to local charities, churches, nonprofits and other community organizations. After all, it’s not just a present to them and the people — your neighbors — they serve, but also to your taxes if the organizations are eligible for donor tax deductions.

We’ve highlighted holiday toy drives and coat drives this season, and here are a few more suggestions for local groups that could use continued support now and going into the new year.

  • Irondale Center
Thirty-two years of original, classical and contemporary theatre right in our own backyard, for all ages. Help keep the legacy alive.
  • BRIC Arts
The media and arts education nonprofit at 647 Fulton Street provides free and low-cost training and performance opportunities to Brooklyn youth.
  • Brooklyn Academy of Music
Donors can support regular BAM programming and/or BAM’s Ignite arts education initiative — free in-school and after-school programs — specifically.
  • Trilok Fusion Arts Center
The building at 143 Waverly Avenue is full of energy, music, children, and culture at all times, through after-school programs and music classes. What goes into Trilok gets returned with dividends to the community.
  • Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Whether a year-end gift or an any-time-of-year-support, all funds go to support the garden, science workshops, school programs, internships and more.
  • Brooklyn Public Library
With 58 branches including two in Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, plus several more just a few blocks further out, the library is a community resource. And today, Tuesday, December 30, all donations get matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $35,000.
  • Museum of Contemporary African Diaspora Arts
More than just its big programs like the Soul of BK Festival and KidFlix Film Festival, MoCADA provides regular visual arts exhibits that promotes culture and dialogue about social and political issues past, present and future. Support a true community-effort.
  • Little Essentials
Founded by a Fort Greene resident, Little Essentials takes all donations — clothing, car seats, baby supplies, money and volunteer work — and funnels it back to families in need of a community of support.
  • Team Tiny Animal Rescue
Love animals? Then donate your time and TLC to fostering, walking and otherwise supporting local animals that are lost or abandoned, helping them find forever homes.
  • Pratt Area Community Council
For decades, PACC has been a nonprofit community advocate for local homeowners, tenants, business owners, families and youth. When it comes to a team effort, PACC leads by example.
  • JACK NY
Two-year-old theater and performance arts company JACK hit the ground running with over 500 performances and the launch of a free theater program for local teens (Truthworker Theatre Company). Help them fill their third year with even more community-guided collaborations.
