New Tenant Moving Into 1410 Cortelyou Road
Update: Having looked into a tip from another neighbor, it appears there may actually be a wine shop in store for 1410, although the realtor we spoke to was unable to offer more information. A representative from Element confirmed again that they plan to move onto Cortelyou, although there is now some disagreement about exactly where on the street. We will continue to look into the matter, though finding out about two new businesses possibly moving onto the street in one day is pretty exciting anyway.
Earlier: Neighbor Sarah dropped us a tip last night that Park Slope’s Element Beauty Lounge is planning to move into the former Toy Space storefront at 1410 Cortelyou Road (between Marlborough and Rugby Roads). A representative for the salon confirmed they planned to expand to Ditmas Park, and hope to be open in about three months in time for your mid-summer mani-pedi, massage and skincare, and waxing needs.
Element has gotten rave reviews on Yelp for its skilled technicians and selection of nail colors, relaxing (and apparently fella-friendly) environment, drying stations equipped with iPads, and complimentary teas and other refreshments for customers.
The salon has a lot of renovations ahead of them, but we can’t wait to stop in and see the space in July. Not too many neighbors seemed thrilled about local salon options when we asked last spring–and at least one commenter mentioned Element as a preferred alternative–so we expect at least some of you will feel the same. How many Element devotees are glad to see another location open so closeby?
