East Flatbush Shooting Leaves One Dead, One Charged With Murder

EAST FLATBUSH – A man is dead and his septuagenarian shooter charged with murder after a violent dispute in East Flatbush last weekend.

Around 2:00 pm on October 20, police responded to a call of a man shot at 1844 Nostrand Ave. Upon arrival, they found 44-year old Mora Lyons unconscious and unresponsive, with two gunshot wounds to the chest, said police.

EMS transported Mr. Lyons, of East Flatbush, to Kings County Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

71-year old Eugene Scott, an area resident, was arrested for Mr. Lyons shooting and charged with murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, said police. A dispute between the two men preceded the shooting, said police.
