East Brooklyn Call To Action For Health & Economic Justice

BROWNSVILLE – Want to discuss health, housing, education, and your future? Come to the East Brooklyn Call to Action for Health and Economic Justice fair tomorrow.

The fair takes place at PS 156 Waverly (104 Sutter Avenue) on April 27.  The fair runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Councilwoman Alicka Ampry-Samuel and Assemblywoman Latrice Walker, whose district encompasses Brownsville, will attend.

Organizations taking part in the fair include Community Care of Brooklyn, Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, NYC Center of Health Equity, NY State Nurses Association, 1199SEIU, and DC 37.

East Brooklyn Congregations, Pitkin Avenue BID, The Rogosin Institute, and BMS Family Health & Wellness Center will sponsor of the event.

“The goal of this Call to Action is to support a shared vision to build a community-labor coalition that will be positioned to ‘Build Community Health and Build Community Wealth’ for our neighborhoods, aimed at eliminating preventable and premature mortality,” notes the event page.
