A home goods shop opened for business on Thursday, October 22 — just in time for the holiday season to rev up. The new second location of Duman Home is at 139 5th Avenue (corner of St. Johns Place).

Store Manager Ethnie Grazette tells us that the store will “provide options for every part of your home.”

For those of you familiar with the original store in Cobble Hill (213 Court Street at Warren Street), the new outpost is a bit smaller. The products are plentiful, but the layout is clean and organized so as not to be overwhelming.

The reviews on Yelp for the Court Street store are generally quite favorable, and there are multiple positive references about the owner, Cengiz Duman. Reviewers repeatedly spoke of a good selection, fair prices, and friendly staff.

After the closing of Laytner’s Linen (794 Union Street near 7th Avenue) on August 23, Duman Home should be a welcome addition to the area.

The previous tenant was the health food store Back To Earth. The retail space had been on the market since December 2014.

Grazette tells us to expect extended holiday hours, which will begin sometime towards the end of November.

Duman Home is open Monday-Saturday, 10am-7:30pm, and Sunday, 10am-7:00pm You can reach them at 718-576-3145.
