Du Jour Bakery & Dale Talde Teaming Up For Philippines Fundraiser
This Thursday, November 21, Du Jour Bakery (365 5th Avenue) is teaming up with chef Dale Talde (of Pork Slope and Talde) to host a prix fixe family-style dinner to support relief efforts in the Philippines following Typhoon Yolanda.
Reservations are available for 6:30pm and 8:30pm through Wednesday, November 20, and cost $50 per adult, $25 per child under 10 years old, and all proceeds will go to the Philippine Red Cross. Call the bakery at 347-227-8953 to reserve your seat.
The menu will feature (no substitutions, folks): lumpia, a Filipino-style egg roll filled with shrimp, pork, and veggies; pancit bihon, which is stir fried rice noodles with chicken, shrimp, chinese sausage, and cabbage; sinigang, a sour soup wth tamarind, shrimp, pork, and rice; chicken adobo, the national dish of the Philippines in which chicken is stewed in vinegar; and a choice of dessert with either kalamansi soufflé, leche flan, or a bittersweet chocolate caramel mousse bar with coconut jam.
