Late Monday night, a driver who was allegedly on drugs veered off 20th Avenue and crashed through a pediatric therapy clinic and an animal grooming facility, causing severe damage to both stores.

The driver of a 2016 BMW swerved off the road near 74th Street at 11:30pm on Monday, June 5, said cops. He smashed into the waiting room of Sensory Tree clinic, breaching the wall of the groomers (that also house rescue animals) next door, leaving shattered glass all over the sidewalk.

The driver, Leland Chang, 36, was found unconscious inside the car and was treated with Narcan, a drug administered in opioid or narcotics overdose emergencies, said cops.

He was later arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs.

Luckily, no other injuries were reported, and all animal rescues have been accounted for, according to Tiny Tails.

But both Bensonhurst stores sustained serious damage.

The pediatric clinic at 7408 20th Avenue, posted to Facebook that they plan to remain closed for the coming weeks until damages can be repaired, signed with a “feeling emotional” emoji.

Tiny Tails is working on clean up and making sure the building is structurally safe, thanks to support from friends and the building’s landlord, according to the groomers.

“Everyone is safe, our rescue cats and birds are accounted for, and thank god, this was after hours as our neighbor business is a pediatric therapist. We all are very fortunate as walls can be rebuilt,” store representatives wrote.

The opioid epidemic has been tearing through southern Brooklyn — and all of NYC. Last year, a record number of New Yorkers fatally overdosed last year, and officials say 80 percent of those overdoses were from opioids.
