Double Suicide In President Street Apartment

A President Street couple that hosted a self-help radio show were found dead in their apartment on Monday, days after they had apparently both committed suicide. According to the Daily News, 46-year-old Lynne Rosen and her 48-year-old partner John Littig had used plastic bags and helium to take their own lives, with John leaving a note saying that “he could not watch his wife suffer any more.”

The couple ran the life coaching company Why Not Now and hosted the show The Pursuit of Happiness, a motivational call-in show, a segment of which is shown above, on WBAI.

Police and media were on the street on Monday after the building’s custodian apparently discovered the couple’s bodies. Neighbors told the Post that “John was a very nice person,” but that “Lynne kept to herself,” and everyone in the building “is shocked.”

A very sad story, and our thoughts go out to the couple’s family and friends.
