You Don’t Have To Wait For Summer To Go To Camp At Crunch Flatbush
We recently got to know Deidre, one of Crunch Flatbush’s most committed members who’s been able to attain her fitness goals by attending (in truth, being a fixture at) classes. That’s what works for her.
But what works for one person might not work for everyone. People like Deidre really enjoy and respond to larger classes. Some people can come to the gym and run through workout regimens on their own with no problem. But other people need the support of one-on-one work with a trainer or small group.
That’s why Crunch Flatbush offers Camp Crunch.
Housed on the gym’s third floor, it’s a suite of offerings that helps members move forward in achieving their goals with the support of other people. It does this through access to personal training sessions, small-group classes, and nutritional guidance at a rate that works for them.
One of the best features of Camp Crunch is the unlimited access to smaller, 30-minute classes of just 4-5 people at a time. Those classes range from Grid Iron (a football training-type class) to Core Crush to Badass Bootcamp.
There are a couple of ways you can get that access. The first is what the folks at Crunch Flatbush generally recommend: work with a trainer.
Camp Crunch is all about achieving and maintaining goals, and the best way to do that is work with a trainer at least once a week. Sessions are $41 each (in addition to your $9.95 monthly membership) and, with a 3-month commitment, you get that unlimited small-class access.
If you decide you can’t or don’t want to work with a trainer, you can still get access to the classes by signing up for a Peak Results membership. At $49.95, it gives you the same benefits as a regular membership but you also have unlimited access to small-group classes.
Diet is no doubt a part of whatever goals you’ve set for yourself. And with the basic Crunch membership, everyone gets an account with DotFit, a system that helps you log and track your food intake. But if you want help setting up and using DotFit to get to where you want to be, you’ll need to invest in those personal training sessions. They can also take a look at your account and help keep you accountable in case you start to fall off in your tracking or nutritional goals.
We checked in with one of the Camp Crunch trainers, Bibi Mama to see what she thinks of the program and how it might help Crunch Flatbush members. For her, it’s all about community.
What is Camp Crunch in your own words?
Camp Crunch is a community that helps members reach their fitness goals and become better versions of themselves.
Why do you think Camp Crunch is valuable for clients of the gym? What does it offer that can help clients in their desire to be more fit?
Camp Crunch is valuable in that its team is comprised of trainers and coaches who are knowledgeable, talented, and compassionate. From personal training, small group training to nutritional support, Camp Crunch has something for everybody.
Do you have a favorite feature/aspect of Camp Crunch — one that you think is particularly great?
I love teaching and taking the small group training classes. Classes are only 30 minutes so they are efficient and the workouts are so effective. Having the support of fellow members is an added bonus.
Can you tell me a little more about yourself? How long have you been a trainer at Crunch Flatbush? How is it different from other gyms you’ve been to or worked at?
I am a recent graduate from Howard University in Washington, D.C., where I studied Theatre Arts and Psychology. I grew up as a runner and fitness has always been a part of my life. I started training in 2014 and got certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2015. Crunch Flatbush is different from other gyms I’ve worked at in that it’s centered around community. The “no judgements” mantra makes for an inclusive space in which everyone can succeed.
C’mon, campers! Reach out today.
