Fall is on the horizon and it’s time to start thinking about classes for the kids. If you want to try out a few activities before dropping those big bucks, though, two area centers have open house sessions scheduled for next week.
Juguemos a Cantar
When: September 9-14
Where: South Slope: 438 6th Avenue at 9th St and 463 6th Avenue at 10th St, North Slope: 47 Sterling Place at 6th Avenue and 71 Lincoln Place at 6th Avenue.
What: From art and cooking to science and soccer, Juguemos has a class for everyone. A full list of available courses for both the South and North Slope locations can be found here. In addition to the trial classes, a meet and greet with the center’s director and instructors is also scheduled on September 11, from 5pm to 7pm. Parents and children are both welcome to attend, and light refreshments will be served. Space in the trial classes and the meet and greet is limited and pre-registration required.

When: Saturday, September 7 and September 9-11
Where: 421 5th Avenue, between 7th and 8th Avenue
What: On Saturday, September 7, meet the teachers that run BAX’s dance, theatre and tumbling programs for children ages 18-months to 18 years. Tour the facility and sample the center’s wide range of classes. Light refreshments will be served. A handful of free classes are also offered September 9-11 if you’re unable to make the Saturday open house. Due to the high volume of attendees, pre-registration is encouraged.
