Donate To CAMBA & Help Provide Thanksgiving Meals To Families In Need

If you’re looking for a way to help some Brooklyn neighbors have lovely Thanksgiving meals with their families, consider donating to CAMBA’s Beyond Hunger Emergency Food Pantry fundraiser, which has a goal of bringing 500 turkeys to families in need this Thanksgiving.

The food pantry, which is on Church Avenue in Flatbush, serves 5,000 people every month, and at Thanksgiving the need grows.

“Come November, though, they hope for a little more — for their children to be able to take part in the season’s bounty,” says the organization.

CAMBA always gives what they can, but turkeys can stretch a pantry budget to the breaking point. So this year, they’re asking for some help bringing Thanksgiving turkeys to 500 families in the community:

• For $25, you can buy a turkey and all the trimmings for a family of six.

• For $50, you’ll bring that to two families.

• And for $100, four families will have the traditional holiday meal that so many of us are able to enjoy every year.

CAMBA is aiming to provide 500 turkeys this year — a number that will start to meet the need that they see — but we’re confident that neighbors will contribute enough that even more than 500 families will be able to enjoy a lovely Thanksgiving holiday.
