Maybe you don’t need to use that extra copy of Jonathan Franzen’s Freedom as a door-stop anymore? Have your family members sent you 10 copies of Cat In The Hat? Ready to part with your CD of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band because you’ve gone vinyl? Maybe you don’t want your friends to see your Pretty in Pink DVD? Our local libraries are collecting them for upcoming book sales.

Friends of Park Slope Library Book Sale
Drop off books (and DVDs and CDs) at the Park Slope Library (6th Avenue between 8th and 9th Streets) during library hours through Saturday, October 31. The sale will be on Saturday, November 7 between 10am-5pm, with a preview sale on Thursday, November 5, 5pm-7pm. All proceeds benefit the Park Slope Library. Want to volunteer at the sale? Contact PSLibraryFriends@gmail.com.

Great American Book Drive at the Central Library
Drop off your used books at Central Library (10 Grand Army Plaza) now through Saturday, October 17, when there will be a $1 book sale, live music, and crafts for kids from 10am-3pm. Better World Books will sell the donated books to people all over the world, and Brooklyn Public Library will get part of every sale.
