Sandy may have brought local school kids an unexpected weeklong vacation, but it looks like they’ll have to pay the piper for those days come February.
Schools Chancellor Walcott announced Monday evening that students will attend class February 20-22, previously scheduled as the last three days of winter break. Additionally, an early release day on June 4 will now become a full school day.
Under state law, schools must hold class for 180 days, so let’s just hope Mother Nature goes easy on us this winter.
