Q Gardens Workshop: Make Your Own Sub-Irrigated Planter
When: Wednesday, June 22 at 6:30pm to 8pm

Q Gardens,  East 18th St and Church Avenue 


What: The Greenbridge Community Garden Alliance of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden present their first workshop at Q Gardens. Learn how to save time and water by creating your very own SIP sub-irrigated planter. Prepare for a hands-on workshop at Q community garden located right behind the B/Q subway station at Church Ave.

Whitesnake at The Kings Theater
When: Monday, June 20 at 8pm
Where: The Kings Theater, 1027 Flatbush Avenue
What: WHITESNAKE, the legendary rock ‘n’ roll band founded and formed by Deep Purple singer David Coverdale brings their 2016 “The Greatest Hit Tour” to the Kings Theater.
How Much: Ticket prices range between $20 and $80 on Ticketmaster.

Community Board 14 Meeting
When: Monday, June 20 at 7:30pm
Where: Edward Murrow Hight School, East 17th street between Avenues L and M
What: Tonight, attend the last general board meeting of the fiscal year for community board 14, updating neighbors on a range of topics, including transportation, public safety, youth services, and more. The last chance to voice your concerns and learn about the neighborhood before the board’s summer recess.

Make Music New York In Prospect Park
When: Tuesday, June 21 from 11am to 7pm
Where: Various locations in Prospect park
What: Make Music New York is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with over 1,200 concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the five boroughs. There are 3 performances in Prospect Park at the Lullwater Bridge, Grand Army Plaza, and the Nethermead. See the Prospect Park website for more details, and enjoy live music outdoors!

The Last Garden Concert at PS 217
When: Wednesday, June 22 at 6pm
Where: PS 217 school, 1100 Newkirk Avenue (and Westminster Road)
What: Lovely outdoor garden concerts at PS 217, this last installation features Holler, a band that blends  Americana and Appalachian music with upright bass, auto harp, and guitar. Holler released their second album, A Light That Shines, in April 2016.
How Much: Free

Celebrate Brooklyn Benefit Concert: Ray LaMontagne
When: Wednesday, June 22 at 7:30pm
Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, enter at 9th street and Prospect Park West
What: Soothing folk musician Ray LaMontagne graces the stage at the bandshell summer concert series, celebrating his newest album Ourobos, which comes out March 2016. You see the show by purchasing tickets to this show and support the fantastic summer concert series in Prospect Park—or just listen with a blanket and some friends camped outside the walled gates.
How much: Tickets are about $50 from ticketmaster, or free to listen outside the gates.
