Ditmas Park Weekend Events
Looking for something to do this weekend? You could attend a crawfish boil, enjoy some jazz with your coffee, go birdwatching in the park, or run for a great cause. Learn about these events and more after the jump.
Saturday, May 4
- Enjoy the food trucks at the Parade Ground (and don’t miss Grand Army Plaza trucks on Sundays), Prospect Park, 8am-5pm.
- Sustainable Flatbush’s Healing Herb Garden Saturday open hours are at 2103 Kenmore Terrace, 10am-2pm (with compost open hours 10am-12pm).
- Kids up to 5 can attend Storytime with Jumpstart! at the Cortelyou Library, 10:30am.
- Check out the Pop-Up Audubon, Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5pm.
- The 4th annual Crawfish Boil featuring brews from Abita is at Sycamore, servings starting at 1pm.
- Learn about 19th Century life at the Lefferts 2nd Floor Tours, Lefferts Historic House, Saturdays and Sundays 1pm-3:30pm (tours every half hour).
- Kids can learn about spinning yarn at History in Your Hands: Fleece Fun, also at the Lefferts Historic House, Saturdays and Sundays from 2-4pm.
- Artists can RSVP and attend neighbor Jennifer Giuglianotti’s MAD Love Creators Meetup at her studio, 2pm.
- “Honey, Dear” Vintage Jazz is on at Lark, 4-5pm.
- Belt it out at Karaoke Night, 773 Lounge, 9pm.
- The saxophone-driven John De Lucia Group plays Sycamore, 9pm.
- Names You Can Trust hosts their weekly party at Sycamore, 10pm.
Sunday, May 5
- Morning Bird Walk: Marvelous Migrants meets at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, 8am.
- Get running for a good cause at CAMBA’s Healthy Way 5k, Prospect Park, 9am.
- Attend a free health fair at Our Lady of Refuge, 9am.
- Help the Weekend Volunteer Corps at the Picnic House parking lot, 10am-1pm.
- Julie Peppito‘s closing reception is at Lark, 1:30-3:30pm.
- Dave Clive’s Nawlins Funk Band is at 773 Lounge, 2-5pm.
- Yoon Sun Choi plays at Sunday Jazz for the Family, Lark, 4-5pm.
- Sit zazen at Third Root, 6:45-7:15pm.
- Underground Works (lineup TBA) is on at Sycamore, 8pm.
