It’s shaping up to be a beautiful weekend, and there are a lot of great ways to enjoy it right in our area.

Saturday, September 28

• A pop-up bookstore with WORD is at Lark, 9am-1pm.
Lavender Blues music group for babies and toddlers at Lark, 10am.
Ready, Set, Kindergarten is at the Cortelyou Library, 11am.
Alex Levin and guests play jazz at Purple Yam, 12:30-2:30pm.
Join the Brooklyn Bird Club for a walk. Meet at the Prospect Park Audubon Center, 12pm.
• Kids can churn butter and more at the Lefferts Historic House, 2 and 3pm.
• Watch some contemporary Jamaican films from caribBEING now outside the Flatbush Reformed Church, 6pm.
La Mecanica Popular and NYCTrust are at Sycamore, 8pm.
• Get a sliding scale ticket to the Third Root 5th Anniversary Gala at the Irondale Ensemble Project, 7-11pm.

Sunday, September 29

• Meditate for free at at Jaya Yoga East, 8:30am.
• Find some bargains at the Ditmas Park Association yard sale, 9am-4pm.
• Learn a spicy salsa recipe at Brooklyn ARTery at 11am, and stick around for the tortilla class at 1pm.
• Join a Baby Love workshop with local life coach Emmeline Chang at Lark, 3pm.
• … then check out a support group for breastfeeding moms, also at Lark, 5pm.
