**NOTE: Alternate side of the street parking will be suspended on Monday, October 3, and Tuesday, October 4 for Rosh Hashanah but meters are still in effect, according to the DOT**

Rosh Hashanah Activities in Prospect Park
When: Monday and Tuesday, October 3 and 4 from 12pm to 4pm.
Where: Locations throughout Prospect Park, including the Audubon Center, Lefferts House and Carousel.
What: Looking for some fun during the day off? Catch various Rosh Hashanah activities in Prospect Park this week including a Shofar event at 5:30pm, carousel rides (12pm to 5pm), a race around the farm yard (2pm to 4pm), nature exploration and more. See the full event listing for more info.
How Much: Carousel rides are $2, everything else is free.

Traveling theatre company presents Juan Sin Miedo/Fearless Juan [Spanish]
When: Monday, October 3 at 3:30pm.
Where: Cortelyou Public Library, 1305 Cortelyou Road at Argyle Road.
What: Scaramouches Latin traveling theater presents Fearless Juan, a story full of chills, ghosts, monsters, spells through the eyes of a friendly character. This story teaches children how to handle fear and transform it into something positive. This program is in Spanish and English.
How Much: Free

Music Trivia and Live Music
When: Tuesday, October 4 at 7pm.
Where: Bar Chord, 10008 Cortelyou Road between Coney Island Avenue and Stratford Road
What: Test your knowledge at music trivia night hosted by Shane and Ruth. Win bar tabs, jukebox credits and other fun prizes.
How Much: No cover charge

Participatory Budgeting Assembly for District 40
When: Wednesday, October 5 at 6:30pm.
Where: Public school 339 at 2707 Albermarle Road between Rogers and Nostrand Avenues.
What: The participatory budgeting process gives New Yorkers the power to decide how to spend tax dollars in our neighborhoods. Come out to this assembly meeting for Council District 40 to brainstorm ideas for projects that will help our schools, libraries, parks, streets, and other shared spaces.
How Much: Free

Live Irish Music at Shenanigans
When: Wednesday, October 5 from 8pm to 10pm.
Where: Shenanigans Pub, 802 Caton Avenue, at East 8th Street.
What: Kensington’s Irish pub is hosting an Irish music session in their lovely backyard. Come to drink and enjoy the music, and bring an instrument or your voice to play along.
How Much: Free show but don’t forget drinks at the bar.

Q Train: Ditmas Park’s only Queer Party
When: Thursday, October 6 starting at 7pm.
Where: Sycamore Bar, 1118 Cortelyou Road between Stratford and Westminster Roads.
What: The Q Train party returns to Sycamore every first Thursday of the month, this time featuring Bingo hosted by Ariel Speedwagon at 8pm, DJ Gogo Gadget at 10pm and a late-night burlesque by Ditmas Park’s Satine S’allumer.
How Much: Free, but don’t forget drinks at the bar.

Stay informed: District 22 Re-zoning meeting
When: Thursday, October 6 at 6pm.
Where: PS 197 at 1599 East 22nd Street near Kings Highway.
What: Representative from the Department of Education will be presenting re-zoning proposals affecting local schools for District 22. Note: If you need a translator, please email the district office at least 48 hours in advance.
How Much: Free, and important for all district parents and administrators.

Sigur Ros at the Kings Theater
When: Thursday, October 6 at 8:30pm. (Also Friday, October 7)
Where: The Kings Theater, 1027 Flatbush Avenue between Tilden Avenue and Duryea Place.
What: Icelandic experimental rock band Sigur Rós tests out new music and performance concepts at the Kings Theatre this Thursday, offering the audience two sets without their characteristic string and brass sections — focusing instead on the core unit band.
How Much: Tickets start at $79.50, and there aren’t many left.
