Ditmas Park Resident Honored At New York Methodist Hospital Awards Ceremony
NYM Volunteer Award Winners Sue O'Neil

Ditmas Park’s own Sue O’Neil was given the Extraordinary Commitment Award for her volunteer efforts at New York Methodist Hospital‘s Annual Volunteers Recognition Ceremony last Thursday, May 23rd.  NYM says:

After a career serving as a registered nurse (including a stint as a combat nurse in Vietnam), Ms. O’Neil retired with her husband to Brooklyn in 2008. As a Reach Out and Read Volunteer in the Outpatient Pediatric Clinic, she has served New York Methodist Hospital for almost five years, and has trained countless new volunteers in that time.

The ceremony celebrates the work of 1,200 volunteers who donated over 90,000 hours of their time last year to help keep NYM at its best. Other awards went to Park Slope’s Madonna Reed, Michelle Urman of Sheepshead Bay, Marine Park’s Akiva Pollak, and Canarsie’s Alexa Marshall.

Thank you to Sue and other volunteers who give up their time!
