Ditmas Park Halloween Parade Update

In the wake of last night’s storm, parents around the city have been wondering what will happen during Halloween. Here’s what is happening with our neighborhood’s annual parades.

The Prospect Park South parade on Albemarle Road has been cancelled. “The police, whom we rely on to make sure that the parade is safe and successful, are involved with recovery efforts across the precinct,” wrote James Dougal, “and are understandably unavailable for the parade this week.”

The West Midwood parade on Glenwood Road will still happen tomorrow. It will begin two hours early at 4pm for safety reasons.

“Please join us at 4 at the end of Glenwood Road off Rugby Road for cookies, cupcakes, and apple cider,” wrote organizer Beth Dunfey. “The parade will begin at 4:30 and will march to the corner of Rugby and back. Neighborhood trick-or-treating will begin immediately thereafter. All neighborhood residents are welcome, especially kids in costume.”
