Dine In Park Slope: Neighborhood Eateries Will Offer Dining Specials August 20-30

PARK SLOPE – The Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID, Park Slope Chamber of Commerce, and North Flatbush BID have teamed up on a promotion to boost business at local restaurants during the waning days of summer.

From Monday, August 20 to Thursday, August 30, area restaurants participating in Dine in Park Slope will offer specials to entice neighbors to patronize their businesses. More than 30 eateries have already signed up for the event aimed at increasing foot traffic and sales  in the neighborhood during “slower summer days,” explained Mark Caserta, Executive Director of the Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID.

The idea for the promotion grew from a desire to find ways for local small businesses to work together. If the first Dine In Park Slope event proves successful, Caserta says it may become an annual event and a winter edition may be added as well.

Some of the current specials include a 15% discount at Da Nonna Rossa (140 7th Ave), a free drip coffee with purchase at Doughnut Plant (245 Flatbush Ave), a free bar snack with purchase of an entree at Rose’s (295 Flatbush Ave), a $25 three-course pre-fixe menu at Sotto Voce (225 7th Ave), 20% off dinner at Los Nopales (191 5th Ave), 10% off at Shaking Crab (230 5th Ave), and more. See the full list of participating restaurants and their specials here.

Business owners can click here to sign up. It’s free to participate and businesses can offer any special they want. The Park Slope Fifth Avenue BID will promote the Dine in Park Slope participants on social media and in their newsletter.

Dine in Park Slope follows on the heels of NYC Restaurant Week (July 23 – August 17), the popular foodie event that offers special pre-fixe menus for lunch ($26 two-courses) and dinner ($42 three-courses). The latest edition of the event only included ten Brooklyn restaurants on its list of nearly 400 businesses across the city. The only two Park Slope eateries included on the NYC Restaurant Week roster were Benchmark (339A 2nd Street) and Talde (369 7th Avenue).
