Diamond Wireless Coming To Former GameStop Space On 7th Avenue
Another of the many vacant storefronts along 7th Avenue is about to be filled, going from video games to cell phones.
The space at 153 7th Avenue, between Garfield and Carroll, will soon become a Diamond Wireless store, which is a Verizon retailer that launched in Salt Lake City in 2000 and now has hundreds of locations all across the country, the closest of which is at the Kings Plaza Mall.
Tipster J pointed us to their application with the Department of Buildings to install an illuminated sign, which was just approved last week.
The space has been empty since March 2014, when a GameStop franchise consolidated with another location a bit south, at 527 5th Avenue, between 13th and 14th Streets.
There are a few other Verizon wireless retailers in the area, from the Atlantic Terminal Mall to a couple Radio Shacks to a spot up on Prospect Park West.
