With more rainfall forecasted through tonight and tomorrow, the city Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) sent the following alert to New Yorkers, including Brooklyn’s Community Board 2:

Due to the forecasted rain for Monday night through Tuesday night, DEP has activated its Flash Flood Emergency Plan. All chronic flooding locations will be pre-inspected. Weather conditions will continue to be monitored and staffing will be augmented as needed.
We would like to urge homeowners, merchants and commercial property managers to keep catch basin grates clear of debris in order to maintain proper drainage.
Please report any flooding conditions to 311 by calling or visiting www.nyc.gov/311.
