Delivery Man Injured With Soda Can In Cortelyou Road Robbery
Police are searching for two men suspected of robbing and hitting a delivery man in the lobby of a Cortelyou Road apartment building last Tuesday.
On June 21, at approximately 9:30pm, the two perpetrators (pictured below) dashed into the lobby at 2201 Cortelyou Road at the corner of East 22nd Street, and smashed a 40-year-old delivery man on the head with a soda can, according to police reports. Once the victim was knocked to the ground, the suspects stole his cell phone, $100 in cash, and the bag of food he was delivering.
The victim refused medical attention at the scene, according to police. But one tenant said, “When I came home that day, there was blood and food scattered everywhere. It’s very sad.”
The first suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds. The second suspect is also described as a black male in his early 20s, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 170 pounds.
A photo from the surveillance footage, along with information about the crime, was found in the Cortelyou Road apartment building. Police are offering a $2,500 reward for information regarding this robbery.
