Death Of Prospect Heights Man Found Unconscious On Street Ruled A Homicide
PROSPECT HEIGHTS – A Prospect Heights man found unconscious on the street back in May has died from his injuries and his death has been ruled a homicide.
At approximately 5:30pm on Sunday, May 28, police responded to a call regarding an assault in front of 502 Prospect Place at Classon Avenue. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered 62-year-old Nelson Carrion unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his head, according to police. Carrion was found just a block away from his home, the New York Daily News reports.
EMS transported Carrion to Kings County Hospital where he died from his injuries on September 10. Earlier this month, the New York City Medical Examiner deemed the incident a homicide, the NYPD announced on Friday.
No arrests have been made yet and the investigation is ongoing.
