UPDATED: Dead Body Found In SUV On Avenue J, May Be Former Knicks Draft Pick

Updated 3:55pm: The New York Post is reporting that the body found in an SUV on East 16th Street on Tuesday was former New York Knicks draft pick Michael Wright, who had been reported missing from his New Jersey home by roommates on Sunday.

Wright never made it onto the Knicks’ roster, and had been playing overseas in Europe for the past several years.

A dead body was found in an SUV parked near Avenue J and East 16th Street on Tuesday morning around 11am, according to Brooklyn News 12.

Witnesses said the vehicle had been parked in the space since at least Sunday, officials told News 12.

News 12 reports that the body had a bag over its head and was in the backseat of the Lexus SUV, which had New Jersey license plates. The vehicle had also been issued a parking ticket.

Some reports say that the death was a suicide but that has not been confirmed. We reached out to the police to learn more and we will update with any additional information.
