Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

It might still be cold this morning, but thanks to sunny skies and a retreating jet-stream, we should finally see our temperatures get into the mid-40s by the end of the workweek, according to the National Weather Service. What does the warming weather have you excited for, locals?

Here’s more news to get you going:

  • Winter is almost over and that means annual tree pruning is underway on many city streets. On Myrtle Avenue, the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership’s process has also started in earnest. Out of the 270 trees within the Business Improvement District, 36 have been pruned – a job that includes reshaping the trees, as well as clearing the low and dead branches that make trees susceptible to damage from trucks and buses.
  • Is Brooklyn’s ascension as a hip residence falling flat? Increasing luxury condo prices and $10 lattes hint that the end is coming, the New York Observer reported. The post says the “Brooklyfication of Brooklyn” is happening in many neighborhoods, including Fort Greene and Clinton Hill, leading to an unauthentic feel in the nabes because they now lack diversity.
  • David Louison, a junior forward at St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn was named both a First Team All-American and a member of the National All-Academic Team at a United States Collegiate Athletic Association banquet. In receiving First Team recognition and All-Academic honors, the student-athlete becomes the first Bear in any sport to receive First Team All-American honors and All-Academic honors concurrently in back-to-back seasons.
