Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

You might be yearning for a break from cloudy weather, but after some sun to begin the day the skies aren’t expected to clear until this weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Do you have some tips to help us beat the rainy day blues? Share them in the comments.

Here’s more news to get you started this morning:

  • The price of Brooklyn homes in the first quarter of this year has risen by 34 percent compared to the same period last year, Brownstoner reported. While house prices are growing quickest in emerging markets, such as Bedford-Stuyvesant or Carroll Gardens, our Brownstone Brooklyn and North Brooklyn neighborhoods are experiencing a tightening of the market because of an influx of affluent buyers who are expected to break real estate records this year.
  • Get out to meet some of your neighbors at a Lenten fish fry tomorrow at Cadman Congregational Church, 350 Clinton Avenue, from 3 to 7 p.m. The $10 fish dinner also includes peas, rice and salad. To find out more or to place an order, call (718) 638-2231 or email cadmanchurch@gmail.com.  Fish dinners also are planned at the church on April 11 and 18.
  • Congrats to St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn Senior outfielder Joe Mendez, who won D3baseball.com Team of the Week honors, as well as earning both the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and the Association of Division III Independents baseball Player of the Week. The honors follow a career week at the plate for the student, who is batting a team-high season average of .409 and has a team-high five homers and 26 RBI. The Bears (9-6) are back in action today at 4 p.m., when they host Baruch College at MCU park.
