Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

The cold Canadian air that was chilling the northeast will finally dissipate today, leaving us with more seasonable temperatures through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Do you have plans to enjoy the warm respite? Let us know in the comments what you’re up to and don’t forget to share your photos with us on The Nabe’s Flickr group.

Here’s more local news to get your started this morning:

  • In celebration of the life of Alfred Chiodo, a top aide to Council Member Letitia James who was found dead last week, his family has organized a gathering at 7 p.m. tonight at the Church of St. Luke and St. Matthew. If you want to send a gift because you can’t attend, the family has asked that people make donations to one of three organizations that Chiodo held in high regard, including Transportation Alternatives, the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals and the Rainbow Heights Club.
  • You can help bring more yoga classes to Clinton Hill by supporting Move With Grace’s studio expansion fundraising project. The $20,000 fundraising goal will not only support expansion of studio space for classes, but also help pay for a new juice bar and increased community wellness outreach. There are 38 days left to make a donation of as little as $10 to help the studio meet its goal, of which it has garnered more than $1,000 so far.
  • Get your chance to watch Brooklyn Navy Yard manufacturer IceStone transform waste glass into benches, countertops and many other items at a factory tour on its production floor tomorrow between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. The event is part of the navy yard’s “Industry in Action” factory tours, in which manufacturers and craftsmen welcome navy yard visitors to see what they make. During tomorrow’s visit, patrons can handle raw material and also take a piece of IceStone home. To purchase tickets, which cost $12 for BLDG 92 members and $15 for non-members, visit http://bldg92.org/events.
