Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

Temperatures may be in the low 50s today, but we’re looking at a toasty Halloween, with temperatures on Thursday and Friday in the high 60s. It might be the final respite from the cold before winter, according to the National Weather Service.

  • At Greenlight Bookstore tonight, sisters and owners of Brooklyn’s pie shop and café Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Emily and Melissa Elsen, talk about their new book, “The Four & Twenty Blackbirds Pie Book: Uncommon Recipes from the Celebrated Brooklyn Pie Shop”. The book’s recipes test the limits of tried and true pie flavors, and instruct readers on how to make pies such as the Salted Caramel Apple and Black Currant Lemon Chiffon. The talk, which features Edible Brooklyn editor Grabrielle Langholtz, includes pie samples. The chow down and chat start at 7:30 p.m. at 686 Fulton Street.
  • Curious about your nabe poll workers as we prep for another election day? Come out to the Teen Challenge Center at 444 Clinton Avenue to honor the poll workers of the 57th Assembly District at a Poll Worker Appreciation Party hosted by Female District Leader Renee Collymore. Elected officials, food and refreshments all show up at 6:30 p.m.
  • If you’re on the hunt for a job, the Barclays Center is hiring for its guest services and security teams. Candidates should attend pre-screening events on Nov. 4 and Nov. 7 at the Workforce1 Career Center at 9 Bond Street. Final interviews will be conducted on Nov. 7. Pre-registration is required and can be found here.
