The Day: A New Clinton Hill Playground, a New Pratt Station Post Office Home and an Invitation to Watch the French Open
Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
After yesterday’s early rainstorms, the clouds have cleared and the next three days will be sunny with temperatures in the high 70s and low 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
Now that it’s almost summer, locals will be biking more around the neighborhood. Make sure you’re riding safely and pick up a free bicycle helmet from the New York City Department of Transportation on Saturday. The giveaway happens on the corner of Washington Park and Myrtle Avenue between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Brooklyn Hospital Center will also have a free health fair from 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday outside the hospital on Ashland Place between DeKalb Avenue and Willoughby Street.

- Kids living in the Pratt Towers have a new playground, reported The New York Daily News. Yesterday, more than 200 workers, including Pratt Towers residents, Forest City Ratner employees and non-proft
- The Pratt Station Post Office will move to a new location on Myrtle Avenue at Kent Avenue, according to notices from local politicians, reported DNAinfo. The new location will offer full retail services, although it is still not clear when it will be open.
- The Fort Greene Tennis Association is hosting a viewing of the men’s finals of the French Open on Sunday at Black Forest Brooklyn beer hall on Sunday starting at 9 a.m. Watch the matches on a HD projector while having brunch. The FGTA will also offer a membership deal to play in upcoming doubles and singles tournaments for a discount.
