We’re in the first week of December – when, according to the National Weather Service, temperatures will stay in the mid-50s. Today will be a sunny 51 degrees, while temperatures tomorrow will reach 54 degrees. If you’re outside enjoying the balmy winter, be sure to add your photos of the nabe to The Nabe’s Flickr group.

  • Atlantic Avenue gets bright lights tonight, with a tree lighting party at the Belarusian Church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. There will be holiday performances from children’s artist Rolie Polie Guacamole, Dancewave and students from PS 38 on Pacific Street. Santa Claus will make a special, though not entirely surprise, visit and there will be treats on-hand from various Atlantic Avenue merchants. The Belarusian Church is located at 401 Atlantic Avenue and the event is free.
  • BRIC House continues its Stoop Series tonight with a conversation between artist Rafael Vargas-Suarez and composer Stephen Barber. The two will talk about a piece they made in collaboration, “From Subsonic to Supersonic,” and how music and sound converge with visual art. BRIC House is located at 647 Fulton Street.
  • Reggie Wilson/Fist & Heel Performance Group returns to the Brooklyn Academy of Music tomorrow night with “Moses(es)”. Using different narratives of Moses, the choreography investigates why some lead and others follow. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $20. BAM is located at 651 Fulton Street.
