The Day: A CB2 Meeting, Dance at Irondale and the State of the District
Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
Although we’re starting out the day with wind chill temperatures near -10, according to the National Weather Service, we should warm up into the mid-20s this afternoon. Hopefully it will be enough to help melt some of the ice and snow we accumulated. If you’re out chipping away, show us before and after photos by sharing them in The Nabe’s Flickr group.
Here’s more news to start off your day:
- After the cancellation of Community Board 2’s Transportation Committee meeting due to snow on Tuesday evening, the board opted to reschedule for tonight. That means you’ve got the chance to hear transportation news starting at 6 p.m. in Room 6221 at St. Francis College, located at 180 Remsen Street. Agenda items include, road improvements on Fulton Street and the soon-to-come Clinton Hill and Bedford-Stuyvesant Neighborhood Slow Zone program.
- If you’re a fan of dance, FLICfest has more than a week of events for you at the Irondale Center. The fun starts at 7:30 p.m. tonight with Alberto Denis’ “The Emancipation Proclamation of GoGo Gadget!” and Yung-Li Chen’s “A. Cuddy Project.” Tickets each night cost $25 for general admission and $20 for students.
- Get to know what’s happening in your congressional district with Representative Hakeem Jeffries‘ 2014 State of the District Address next week. The Jan. 30 discussion begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Boys and Girls High School auditorium, located at 1700 Fulton Street. Space is limited, so if you want a seat be sure to RSVP by calling (718) 237-2211.
