Crime Was Down Across the Board During Sandy in Ditmas Park

Above is the most recent CompStat report from the 70th Precinct, which covers the week of 10/29 through 11/4/12, during which Hurricane Sandy hit.

Crime was down across the board during that week.

• A 75-year-old man was reported missing on November 11 after disappearing from his Flatbush Avenue home. He was found and returned home the following day.

• The 70th Precinct continues to warn residents to be on guard against seasonal holiday charity scams and burglaries.

Citywide, there have been 226 arrests for storm-related offenses since the outset of Hurricane Sandy, said the NYPD, consisting mainly of burglaries.
