Crime Blotter: Supreme Store Slashing, Sunset Park Carjacking And More

EAST NEW YORK – Yesterday evening, an 80-year old man was shot and killed in the bodega he owned on Stanley Avenue.

WILLIAMSBURG – Just after 7:00 pm on Monday, December 11, a man was slashed in the face by an unknown assailant outside the new Supreme store at 152 Grand Street, near Bedford Avenue.

EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital for a laceration to the face, caused by an unknown object, police said.

The suspect was described by police as a male in a red jacket with “Britain” written on the back and was seen entering a vehicle that appears to be a Mercedes after the incident. Surveillance photos can be seen below:

EAST NEW YORK – Police are looking for four young men wanted in connection with a violent robbery in East New York last week.

Around 8:20 pm on Thursday, December 7, the four suspects followed their 15-year old male victim into a residential building near Elton and Egan Streets, said police. Riding the elevator with him, the assailants pushed their victim to the ground as he attempted to exit on his floor, punching him repeatedly in the face and stealing his cell phone.

Surveillance video from the time of the incident shows the suspects wanted in connection with the robbery, who police describe as black men 18-20 years old, all wearing dark winter clothing:

BUSHWICK – Two suspects in a late November robbery in Bushwick are still at large, say police.

On Wednesday, November 29, around 9:15 pm, three individuals approached a 23-year old woman from behind, ordering her to lay on the ground, outside the Cathedral of Joy Church of God at 43 George Street, near Central Avenue, said police.

The thieves stole the woman’s backpack and cellphone, fleeing west on George Street. Responding units apprehended Daishawn Ellis, 17, of Bed-Stuy shortly thereafter. According to police, he was arrested on charges of robbery, criminal mischief, and criminal possession of stolen property.

Police are looking for the two other suspects in the robbery, who they described as black men, 18-25 years old, wearing black hoodies.

SUNSET PARK – Two men are wanted by police for a Sunset Park carjacking that occurred at 6:30 pm on Saturday, November 18.

As a 65-year old man in a Toyota RAV4 waited for the light at the intersection of 52nd Street and 3rd Avenue, an unidentified male approached his car, producing a knife and demanding that he exit the vehicle, said police. The attacked grabbed his victim by the shirt collar, punching him in the head and removing him from the vehicle.

The attacker then got in the driver’s side of the vehicle and an unidentified accomplice entered the passenger side, said police. The suspects fled in the vehicle. Police said the victim refused medical attention at the scene, despite suffering pain and swelling to his face and head.

The vehicle was recovered a few days later by NYPD in the Rosebank neighborhood of Staten Island. The two suspects were seen on surveillance video the day of the incident:

Police described the suspects as white or Hispanic men, roughly 30 to 40 years old. One was approximately 6’2″, while the other about 5’8″, both with beards.
