The NYPD is after two men who robbed a Coney Island Avenue jewelry store at gunpoint and got away with a quarter of a million dollars worth of merchandise.

Police say the two men entered Farrah Gold & Diamond at 1064 Coney Island Avenue, just south of Foster Avenue, at about 1:20pm on Wednesday, December 3. With masks over their faces, one displayed a handgun while the other used a hammer to break a glass display case and grab the contents, which were valued at about $250,000.

This is the fifth armed robbery of a business in the area in the past month, following incidents at Lark Café, Ox Cart Tavern, Mimi’s Hummus, and the Stratford Deli.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s crime stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the crime stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
