Cops Searching For 2 Men Posing As Officers

The two men shown in the above surveillance video are being sought by police for questioning in 3 incidents of police impersonation and robbery.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at approximately 8:20pm in front of 2331 West 11th Street in Gravesend. A 16-year-old male victim was approached by two men who displayed a shield and stated they were police officers. The men handcuffed the victim, took his cellphone and threw it into a sewer, then fled the scene. The surveillance video above was taken at the scene of this incident.

A second incident occurred on Monday, January 2nd at approximately 12:50am in front 688 East 40th Street in East Flatbush. Two men in a black Nissan Altima, with a partial New York license plate of GZM, approached a 26-year-old male victim. The two men displayed a shield and asked the victim if he had narcotics before taking his cellphone and wallet and fleeing in the vehicle.

A third incident occurred on Wednesday, January 4th at approximately 10:30pm. A 25-year-old male victim was crossing the street at East 23rd Street and Avenue W in Sheepshead Bay when two men approached him. One of the men grabbed him from behind in a choke hold while the other searched his jacket pockets. The victim was able to fight back and the two suspects fled without taking anything.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 25-years-old, 5’7″ tall, 145 lbs, with black hair. The second suspect is a black male, approximately 25-years-old, 6’2″ tall and 170 lbs.
