Cops Release Images And Video Of Suspected Rapist Who Attacked Woman In Sunset Park-Borough Park
A violent rapist is on the loose and cops are hoping that we can help ID and find him.
The suspect reportedly raped a 29-year-old woman at knife-point in the lobby of her apartment building on 50th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues on the border between Sunset Park and Borough Park this past Saturday, March 12, at around 11:45pm. He held the knife to her neck, groped her buttocks, forcibly pulled off her pants and underwear, and raped/sexually assaulted her. He then fled on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a slim light-skinned male standing around 5-feet-9-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall, and was seen in surveillance video wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Residents and community leaders alike have expressed horror and concern as word of this incident has spread, with local organizations like the Sunset Park Business Improvement District and Sunset Parker Facebook group spreading the world to neighbors.
Congressmember Nydia Velazquez and Councilmember Carlos Menchaca also issued a joint statement saying that they “are shaken by the news of a brutal sexual assault on a young woman” and that they “hope that this terrible crime presents an opportunity for our community members to continue to work together to build a safer, more harmonious environment where individuals of all backgrounds live together side by side, looking out for one another. This crime and others that threaten the integrity of our community will not go unpunished. We demand justice for the survivor and her family.”
