Cops are searching for a man suspected of punching a woman in the face at a Q train stop last Thursday during morning rush hour.

At 8:00am on November 10, the suspect repeatedly punched a 34-year-old woman in the face on a stairwell inside the Q station at Avenue M, according to police reports. The assault happened one block from Edward R. Murrow High School. The victim was left with a swollen face and a bloody hand but refused medical attention.

The suspect is described by police as a man with light skin, 25- to 30-years-old, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray baseball cap, blue jeans, and white sneakers.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.

This wasn’t the first Q train incident we reported this year; in September a 55-year-old woman was pushed down the stairs at Newkirk Plaza, and in April thieves snatched phones from two women’s hands near the Cortelyou Road and Prospect Park stops respectively.
