Update: Man Arrested For Forcibly Touching, Beating Woman At Dekalb Subway Station

Update 5:30pm: Police have arrested 61-year-old Crown Heights resident James Barnes. He is charged with assault and sexual abuse.

Earlier: Police are searching for a man (pictured) they say touched a woman without her consent, then reacted violently when she rejected his advances early last month.

Cops say at about 10pm on Friday, August 8, the victim was climbing the stairs at the Dekalb Avenue subway station when the suspect allegedly placed his head under her skirt.

When the victim pushed the suspect away, police say, the suspect threw her down the stairs and began to punch and kick her. The victim received bruises from the attack, but was not taken to a hospital.

The suspect is described as roughly 60 years old, about 5’8″ and 160 pounds, and with brown eyes.
