Cops After Three Who Ambushed Teen During Sneaker Sale

Cops are searching for three suspects they say assaulted and attempted to rob a teen near New Utrecht Avenue Tuesday in a sneaker deal gone wrong.

The 16-year-old victim met the suspects at the D train’s 62nd Street station at approximately 9:26pm to purchase a pair of sneakers, police said. The suspects immediately attacked the victim by punching him and attempted to remove his belongings. The victim was able to resist and the suspects fled empty handed.

The suspects are identified as black males, 17 to 19 years old, approximately 5 feet 8 inches or 5 feet 9 inches in height.
