Cops After Coney Island Man Wanted For Holding Up Gas Station

Police are hunting for a Coney Island man suspected of holding up a gas station in Midwood last month.

Authorities identified 35-year-old Shamil Tagiev, whose last know address is at the Luna Park Complex in Coney Island, as the man wanted for the robbery.

Cops say he robbed a gas station at the corner of Coney Island Avenue and Avenue O just before 3am on December 27. Tagiev allegedly drew a gun on the 22-year-old clerk working at the store and demanded cash from the register. The employee handed over $70 and Tagiev fled in a blue Toyota, according to authorities.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
