Construction At 1608 Beverley Road Begins
Permits are posted and workers are getting down to business at 1608 Beverley Road, the former circa 1899 brick home between E 16th and E 17th Streets that was demolished a few months back. Plans have been approved and a rendering of the contemporary six story, 12 unit building is now on site.
It looks like the building will feature sleek glass balconies and a terrace off the back, as well as a glass-lined roof deck and a garage. The general contractor overseeing construction is Nadkos Inc., which recently worked on 480 Stratford Road. Construction is scheduled to wrap up in December of 2014.
The majority of neighbors polled in our last post about 1608 Beverley were skeptical about the construction of a new building in the 23 foot-wide lot. Based on the mockup posted at the site, are you any more enthusiastic about the development?
