Coney Island Hospital’s Psych Chief Wins Recognition For Post-Sandy Work (Sponsored)
The head of Coney Island Hospital’s psychiatry program is winning recognition for his work at the hospital, including his post-Sandy recovery programs.
Dr. Jeffrey Goldberg, the chairman of Psychiatry at Coney Island Hospital (2601 Ocean Parkway) was inducted into the Worldwide Registry late last month, an organization that recognizes leaders for their professional accomplishments in industries around the world.
Goldberg has served in his current role for eight years, overseeing the hospital’s Behavioral Health division care and developing new programs. In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, he began lecturing on the hospital’s response to the neighborhood’s needs, and is proposing to transform the treatment model by surveying entire community’s, assessing needs, and then drilling down to the individual for a patient-centered recovery model.
A true New York City local, the 30-year veteran obtained his education at New York Institute of Technology College, went on to Columbia University, and completed his residency in psychiatry at Maimonides Medical Center.
