Ferrara Bros., the largest concrete supplier in the city, will be moving its manufacturing plant to 740 Third Avenue in Sunset Park.

The company’s current facility, located at 435 Hoyt Street in Gowanus, will relocate to the 102,247 square foot industrial site between 23rd and 24th Streets. New York Yimby reports that construction will begin later this year on a $15 million, 5-story, 128-foot-tall plant that will include 1,468 square feet of office space. The state-of-the-art plant will power its 15 cement mixers with compressed natural gas instead of diesel, and offer a CNG fueling station to the public as well.

This news comes on the heels of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s announcement Tuesday of plans to build the “Made in NY” campus at Bush Terminal located along Sunset Park’s waterfront—a city investment that will provide production facilities for the fashion, film and television industries as well as create 1,500 jobs.
